MOBILE OPTIMIZATION – WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT
Mobile optimization refers to adjusting your websites content to offer users that access your platform from a mobile devise a smooth experience, fit to their devices. Mobile devices have a smaller screen than a desktop or a laptop, and it’s important to ensure that your website opens and performs properly.
It is estimated that by 2025 the number of people who access the internet from their phone will reach 3.7 billion, 72.6% of all internet users.
Almost any type of content should be optimized for mobile devices. If your website performs optimal only on desktops …. you need to rethink your strategy. It takes 0.05 seconds for a user to form an opinion about your website. That half a second is decisive! You can gain or lose a customer.
Put yourself in your user’s shoes and think about a time when you tried to access a website from your phone, and it didn’t work. Did you abandon it or kept trying? Were you annoyed that a page or a photo didn’t load, or that the information you were looking for wasn’t available to you quickly, etc.? These problems can ruin a user’s experience on a website, making them close that page and look for another platform that can answer their needs promptly. It’s easier to glide through content with your fingers, rather than clicking on multiple pages to reach the content needed.
2. Don’t overdo it with content.
Mobile users need to find what they are interested in fast and easy, so keep only the relevant information (click here for more information on key-words). Also, every 300-400 words, insert an image to make the page more eye-catching.
3. Chose an easily readable font, size and background color.

4. Make sure your page loads quickly.
53% of users leave a page that takes longer than 3 seconds to load. Check the images on your website and replace the large sized ones (these are slowing your website down) with compressed images.
5. Make your contact information visible and easy to access.
For example, if a customer has a question for you, he/she should be able to tap on your phone number to make that call, rather than typing each number manually. Same goes for your email address – one tap only.
The most important thing is User Experience. Optimizing your website for mobile devices will ensure that users will stay on your page, and ultimately result in a conversion (an action on your website: a purchase, a subscription, an inquiry, etc.).
